So I just washed my 23 weeks post hair!!!
I’m so excited! One more week to 6 months post and my hair is still doing fine. I’m contemplating relaxing it at 28 weeks or even longer..we will see!
So I did a protein treatment with Aphogee 2 min reconstructor then deep conditioned overnight with my amla powder deep conditioning mix. I’m airdrying now.
My regime for this really long stretch has been quite simple: Wear wigs, wash infrequently, avoid buildup
The wigs allow me to not manipulate my hair at all during the day and to also not look like a hot mess lol. Washing infrequently cuts down on the manipulation and allows me to lose less hair. Avoiding buildup from leave-ins and conditioners cuts down on tangles. My hair tangles at the roots if it has too much sticky buildup.
I use a deep conditoning mix of GVP Conditioning Balm, Suave Coconut, and Aussie moist mixed with ayurvedic oils, butters, and powders 1-2 times a week. I shampoo after deep conditioning with Herbal Essences Hello Hydration.
Currently in need of some Aussie moist and Suave coconut..I use so much conditioner on a weekly basis for the deep conditioner mix because my hair is so THICK.
My hair is currently past BSL and I think it would be MBL if it was relaxed.
So officially 16 weeks post today. There’s a little bit breakage, just because I haven’t washed my hair in about a week and it’s weighed down with oils and silicones etc.
So right now, I am doing a heavy oiling with my ayurvedic oil for a couple of hours then an overnight DC with Kalpi Tone, Amla, and Brahmi powders. I only have 4 more weeks but it’s so difficult for me to detangle..I have to use like half a bottle of VO5 conditioner. *sigh* oh well..my hair still is thick and my ends look alright. AND I’m BSL! Yay
Maybe I’ll make close to MBL after I relax! YAY!
Ok so an update..my hair is very thick after my wash. Yesterday I DC’ed with GVP Conditioning Balm+Silk Elements Olive+Aussie Moist+Suave Coconut+Coconut Milk+Rhassoul Clay+Henna+Kalpi Tone+Brahmi+Amla and some oils, aloe vera gel, honey, and butter mixed in. I know, it’s a lot of ingredients..but I’m trying to use up the coconut milk powder I have as well as some other ingredients before I go to colllege this fall.
I love adding in a scoop of henna to my DCs because I always have thick hair afterwards! Not as thick as a full henna application but thick, nonetheless!
The only issue I’m having right now is with combing and detangling. It’s not really an issue, but I’m using like 1/3 of my bottle of VO5 Free Me Freesia conditioner to detangle. It’s quite annoying slathering on the conditioner and it takes a couple of minutes to detangle.
I have about 5 more weeks until I relax and I think that I’m going to do it so I’m happy!!! I hope that I reach midback length or close to it once I relax
Added a teaspoon of henna to my DC mix today..let’s see how it turns out. There will probably be no color change!
Alright doing an ayurveda dc+wash tonight:
DC with Rhassoul, Coconut Milk, and Kalpi Tone DC mixture
Rinse well. Wash with Shikakai conditioner mixture.
Quick condition with conditioner. Rinse with Kalp Tone Tea. Quick condition and detangle with conditioner.
I’m looking forward to trying the tea tonight.
Today I went to Adventure Island..does anyone else’s hair thicken when it dries after being dumped in chlorine? lol Mine does..I was lovin’ it
Anyway I cowashed with VO5 Champagne Kisses and Aussie Moist. I mixed my henna earlier today with a littttle bit too much water. After I came home I mixed 2 tablespoons of Kalpi Tone and a couple squirts of Emami Amla Oil. I applied it to my hair 20 minutes ago and I’m just letting it sit now.
I love hennaing my hair..so relaxing
OK so it’s 1am right now. I’m pretty sure I’m pissing off my grandma by washing so early in the morning..but i have indigo on my hair. I used 200grams and I still really didn’t have enough to saturate my hair. I even used a large amount of water this time and I think I’m going to be successful in making my hair black.
I’m going to rinse out this indigo, co wash with VO5 VMT, then do a deep conditioner overnight.
phew.
So after all of these years I’m still not waistlength because I’ve had to cut my thin ends off. I want waistlength
I’m already brastrap again but I think I’m finding my place. I’m selling my shampoo bars (idk how, where or when..) and continuing with this great ayurvedic regime. Hopefully by next year I’ll be waistlength..
So for the past couple of weeks I have been ayurvedic, bunning, and dc’ing and my hair loves it!
During the day and night oil with avocado oil and/or brahmi oil. I love brahmi oil but I detest the smell of shikakai and amla..smells like baby oil (mineral oil). Ugh. But it’s ok..i just have to mix it with other things.
Tomorrow I’m going to do an overnight oiling then a henna / indigo two-step. In the henna I will mix kalpi tone and amla oil in the morning. I think I’m going to go back to using shampoo bars once a week but I will continue to use my gvp extra gentle weekly.
Tomorrow I’m going to adventure island which means loads of chlorine and dryness
But that’s ok because I will be pampering my hair later on
- Henna & Indigo every 3 months.

Ok so i’m hennaing this weekend..just a quick update on my hair. Let’s just hope I can get it a little bit longer for school.
It’s so annoying how I cannot get to waist length at all. I know I cut it a lot but still. I want waist length AND thick hair..
