Courtney\’s Hair Journey

My hair is incredibly soft.

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 8:16 pm

Yesterday I moisturized with CFCG on my new growth, Garnier on my length and tea tree on my scalp burns. I have SO MUCH moisture in my hair it’s not even funny. It’s like unreal soft. I think i may need a good protein treatment I dunno. Or maybe I should just milk it for all it’s worth. Hmm I dunno more or less i may put some carrot oil on the new growth and ends in stead of tea tree oil but i don’t want weight down my hair at all.

The wash was good

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 2:59 pm

So the colorshowers actually took this time(i think i’m in need of an applause woohoo!) it looks great. At first the colorshowers made my hair a little hard but i followed it up with a moisturizing deep conditioner so that’s all good. I can tell that my hair is coated because it’s very strong! i love the jet black!

Washing tomorrow

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 3:42 pm

All I can say is it better not lightning.

V05 Strawberries&Creme(30m)-Clarify-NTM-V05 Honeydew-Colorshowers-Aussie DEEEP+Honey, etc.

I  hope my hair’s shiny because my date is tomorrow. My hair should be shiny. the care free curl and honey and coconut oil should make it.

So grandma came by today and was telling me how her stylist was all made because she stretched for 8 weeks. I was like wow. You’ve got to be kidding me. I’ve gone 5 months with no significant damage…1 setback and that was the matting but it ain’t coming back. Now i detangle every day! And then she had the nerve to say that i had frayed ends….urm my ends get that way when i don’t wash for a long time..and they’re uneven since i haven’t cut them and since i’ve been stretching for so long. I’ve gotta perm myself though because if i go to someone then they’re gonna rip my hair out FO SHO. i’m relaxing in like 6-7 weeks anyway. I’m only stretching to 9 weeks! woohoo.

it’s been a while…

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 3:13 pm

yup it has been. so my hair has gotten better..TWO PEOPLE HAVE SAID THEY THOUGHT IT WAS A WEAVE. whoa! i don’t think it looks anything like it. but whatever, i’m modest lol. so it’s still severly underprocessed and right now i don’t really care. I’m focusing on nuturing both my hair and scalp and just letting it rest until the next relaxer. I may go to a stylist, but i have more confidence just relaxing it myself instead of being subjected to a stylist and walking out with wet hair lol. I’m going to try another brand of relaxer: Affirm or Mizani. But i’m sticking with lye as nolye causes buildup and drying.
I haven’t moisturized my hair in like a day so maybe i’ll do that if i can get off my butt.
I washed my hair before i went to disney(Clar-CON-Porosity-Motions Moisture Plus-QueenHelene-Aussie Moist+Honey+Evoo+Kemi+Coco) on thursday and it smells like poo because of all the mess i went through in orlando. Thinking of co washing it but i don’t wanna deal with the tangles. like at all. i love feeling my underprocessed hair tho. as long as it’s nicely detangled haha. NO MORE MATTS!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO DOGGEHHHH!!! i love my hair.
Planning on washing/colorshowering on thursday, but i hafta clarify unfortuanately again but i’ll do a nice prepoo without cones(v05 duh).

to do list

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 7:59 pm

i won’t focus on the whole relaxing atrocity that happened yesterday. just going to the stylist and getting out the few remaining matts today when i get home and moisturizing my hair. I will co wash once per week, as more will just require more detangling and more manipulation. Those matts ain’t comin’ back! Fingercombing everyday and checking my scalp every day too!

HOW TO RELAX

Filed under: Hair How To's — by Courtney Smith @ 2:14 pm

Courtney’s Method for Self-relaxing!

What you’ll need:
You don’t have to use what I use, you can use your own products/relaxer!
A base – Vaseline
A relaxer – Silk Elements Mild Lye
A conditioner to protect relaxed hair – Porosity Control
An applicator brush to smooth on conditioner
Duckbill Clips
Neutralizing Shampoo – Profectiv Neutralizing Mousse
A Reconstructor – Aphogee 2 min Reconstructor
A normal detangling shampoo – CON Ultra Moisturizing
A normal moisturizing conditioner – Herbal Essences Hello Hydration
A moisturizing deep conditioner + a little protein – Hollywood Beauty Olive Oil Cholesterol + honey
A moisturizing deep conditioner with NO protein – Aussie DEEEEEP 3 min miracle
A timer
2 cut grocery bags
Wrap Paper

1. Split your hair into 3 sections. Put two sections in bantu knots, then secure each of the bantus with wrap paper then secure the whole section with 2 grocery bags each, then with a shower cap.
2. Apply Porosity Control Conditioner to the relaxed ends with an applicator brush and let dry for 30 minutes.
3. Base the first section with vaseline, concentrating on the lower nape and the hairline.
4. Apply the relaxer WITH YOUR FINGERS(you will have tight fitting gloves on) and go from right to left. First do the crown, then nape, then hairline.
5. Leave the relaxer on for 20-25 minutes with smoothing.
6. Rinse out the relaxer and apply Aphogee 2 min reconstructor for ONLY 2 minutes.
7. Rinse out the reconstructor and shampoo with profectiv neutralizing mousse 3 times.
8. Saturate the hair with V05 Raspberry Balancing Conditioner
9. Do the same for sections 2 and 3.
10. When done with the whole head rinse out the conditioner then wash with profectiv neutralizing mousse 3 more times.
11. Shampoo with CON Ultra Moisturizing then condition with Hello Hydration.
12. Mix Hollywood beauty olive oil cholest. with honey then leave on for an hour and a half.
13. Leave on Aussie DEEEP for 20 minutes then rinse.
14. Apply NTM Silk Touch throughout the hair, concentrating on ends then one pump with Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum.

0 breakage for two days in a row!

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 2:00 pm

I don’t wanna jinx it man!!! I’m getting no breakage whatsoever and my hair is shiny and full of life!

Co wash today with Tangerine Tickle V05; was gonna do strawberries&creme but i want to stay away from protein as much as possible!(soy milk protein). I’m feeling happy about my hair…worried about my scalp. =(

the aphogee smelled REALLY bad

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 2:44 pm

I didn’t think the Aphogee was gonna smell that bad but it did. i mixed it with elasta qp dpr-11 and left it on for 20 minutes under the hood and 5 minutes without the hood. It was nice!
Then i mixed Aussie DEEP and honey, evoo, cocnut oil and kemi oyl and left it on for like 5 hours because it was lightning =(

No breakage yesterday and no breakage yet today!! But i did use a bobby for my braided updo…only one though!! The sore spot is going away..i hope the relaxer doesn’t burn.

o yea i just used S-curl and NTM in the morning.
