i spy ng

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 12:31 am

YES i have ng i spotted it last week..well actually i kinda felt it but i have a lot and i’m only almost 5 weeks post! YAYERS. my hair is growin’ fast..that’s really good!

I think it’s the low-shampooing. I like low-shampoo for my hair it really gives it a break from the harsh chemicals of sulfate poos.I have to use them to clarify though because baking soda doesn’t do the job but i think i diluted it too much though.

So today i saw jasmine in APES class and i wanna say something to her about her hair but i dunno because her friends are gonna be like oh blah blah what the hell happened u kno. ugh i dunno i wanna help her she reminds me of me.

My hair has been feeling good

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 11:43 pm

I was too busy to wash my hair a second time BUT that didn’t htr my hair. My edges are getting much better too! I think I’m going to do a color rinse prefaced by a shampoo by Nexxus Aloe Rid, then follwed with CON Shampoo. This will be my first shamp in a month. Baking Soda doesn’t really “clean” my hair all that well but I may have to add more baking soda..

Wow my hair feels AMAZING!

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 9:05 pm

I did a clarifying with Baking soda and my hair feels so soft not oily at all or weighed down. I’m gonna start doing clarifying every other shampoo. I LOVE IT! My hair responded to my deep conditioners very very well.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Baking Soda

Filed under: Product Reviews — by Courtney Smith @ 7:40 pm

Name – Baking Soda

Description – N/A

Ingredients – Sodium bicarbonate (for the chemists i believe the formula is NaCO3..correct me if i’m wrong.. this is pure baking soda.

Instructions
– N/A

How I used it – I mixed 1/2 teaspoon-1 teaspoon of baking soda in 500 mL of distilled water and a few squirts of my VO5 Kiwi Lime Clarifying Conditioner to balance the alkalinity of the baking soda. I rinsed 3 times with this mixture and each successive time my hair got softer and softer. This is a GREAT alternative to shampoo for those that get dry hair from using sulfate+ammonia shampoos. I don’t see any down to using baking soda to clarify :)

Overall rating – (1-10) 9.9

VO5 Kiwi Lime Clarifying Conditioner

Filed under: Product Reviews — by Courtney Smith @ 7:33 pm

Name - VO5 Kiwi Lime Clarifying Conditioner

Description -Give yourself a squeeze with the fresh fragrance of sweet kiwis and tangy limes. Clarifying formula with rosemary and lemongrass extracts rinses clean. Helps to remove build-up. Safe for all hair types.

Ingredients – Water; Cetyl Alcohol; Stearyl Alcohol; Stearalkonium Chloride; Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract; Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract; Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract; Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Fruit Extract; Hydrolyzed Collagen; Ergocalciferol (Vitamin D); Steareth-21; Glyceryl Stearate; Benzophenone-4; Corn Oil; Propylene Glycol; Disodium EDTA; DMDM Hydantoin; Fragrance; Blue 1; Yellow 5.

Instructions - After shampooing, apply to wet hair and leave on for one minute. Rinse thoroughly.

How I used it – I applied the conditioner to wet hair as a quick rinse. I left it on for maybe a minute and then rinsed it out underneath the shower and combed. It left my hair really soft and there was so much slip! I was surprised that my hair liked this conditioner because it hates mostly everything citrusy. After i airdryed, my hair was very soft, BUT very clean. This is a staple co wash conditioner because it cleans my hair while adding moisture and strength. But you have to be careful not to overdo this conditioner because it contains Hydrolzed Collagen protein, which can lead to protein overload.

Overall rating – (1-10) 9.5

I mixed it with 500mL of water, 1 squirt of VO5 kiwi lime conditioner, and did it 3 times as a rinse. IT WAS GREAT! My hair was so soft! I’m never using shampoo synthetics again! :D I’m doing a much needed protein treatment argh.

my hair is breaking badly

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 4:10 pm

Instead of the scheduled Colorshowers, I will be doing a protein treatment with ORS Mayo.

VO5 strawberries pre-Baking Soda+16oz water+VO5 kiwi conditioner-AOHR-ORS Mayo(1hr)-Proclaim(30m)

hopefully it will cure the breakage. I think i have been overmoisturizing…i dunno lol.

changed my mind about baking soda

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 11:17 pm

I’m gonna just use a teaspoon of Nexxus Aloe Rid diluted in 500 mL of water along with a squirt of conditioner. I saw that baking soda strips color which i don’t like because half of my hair is colored so i don’t know how that will react with my hair..

I’m doing it tomorrow…..

Coco-castor prepoo-Nexxus Aloe Rid+Water+Conditioner-VO5 free freesia-Colorshowers-Proclaim Aloe Shea deep condition

can’t wait to have black hair again! :D
