Schedule APRIL 20-AUG 9

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 12:20 am

at least a 12 week stretch again this time..now with braid sectioning and better detangling 🙂
Starting length=26, Ending length=29 (midback) if 6-month stretch; 27.5 if 12 week; 28 if 16 week
I plan to trim 1.5 inches in May of 09 for thickness. I have already cut about 2 inches off.
I cowash once per week and wash with shampoo and dc once per week. I moisturize my hair at least once daily with ntm and seal with coco oil. I love cowashing because it doesnt leave my hair greasy, but sometimes i find that deep conditioning leaves my hair a itchy greasy mess so working to combat this.
I wash my hair in braids and finger detangle occasionally in between washing. I have not yet gotten a tangle. (YAYERS!)

My hair has no tangles oh my

Filed under: 1 — by Courtney Smith @ 12:28 pm

Im 10 weeks post and  my hair has no tangles or problems and i have a BUNCH of new growth..i mean a bunch!
Im thinking of waiting til 16 weeks because i want my hair to be thicker and healthier..
So what do i attribute to the tangle-freeness?
1. Washing only once per week. When i was doing a cowash inbetween the weekly wash, my hair would tangle up fierce.
2. Washing in braids and airdrying in braids –> HAS HELPED TREMENDOUSLY!!!!!
3. Using my hair butter.

4. Fingerdetangling in between weekly wash.

Yup that’s it!

had some tangles…

Filed under: 1 — by Courtney Smith @ 8:46 pm

i’ve been airdrying my hair and  making curls (it makes me look 2 cute! and i can do versatile styles) but i got some tangles. I think i just have to finger comb a little bit more because the tangles aren’t that bad. I’m still washing in braids 🙂

3 more weeks !

Tomorrow i’m dc’ing w/ proclaim shea&aloe conditioner mixed with avocado butter, hempseed butter, aloe oil

Sometimes you have to let your dreams go…

Filed under: 1 — by Courtney Smith @ 10:04 pm

So  i had big dreams for the site and all..but i think that I am going to just have to have this site as a little personal site. There will be no more  new site in the making because i will be too busy to code for all the darn php, html, css, etc that it will entail 😦
my sincerest regrets.

Our new website is on track :)

Filed under: 1 — by Courtney Smith @ 1:14 am

I’ve done the general outline of the website..fully equipped with div tags and the images..that was the hardest step! Now comes the fun part of designing the CSS (think pretty colors lol) and other images for the site. I don’t want the site to look too boring which I’m scared it will be because it has a lot of white..so i’m gonna play with it a little..

I’m setting up the forum, guestbook, links, etc. today..I’ll try to get everything done. The hardest part again will be writing all the darn stuff for the website also!! I don’t have anyone to help me right now so that kind of sucks..lol.

I’m looking at the first index page as being a regular update website blog. It won’t be a hair blog, but just blogging about website updates. Then we will have a link to my personal blog (which this will become) and then lastly links to the bajillions of informative articles and pages we’ll have on hair care..and of course things to connect ladies (or men..) with others that share their love for hair (I have a ning social network as well as a forum, guestbook, etc).

And this is the most exciting news ever: We’re looking to start a site store in a little bit if the site is successful!!!! Thanks for all of our supporters 🙂 If you’d like to advertise on Strandz when it opens, please email me at ccsmit67@msn.com.

Wash day!

Filed under: Generally Hair — by Courtney Smith @ 5:25 pm

First, I braided my hair in two sections then mixed Aloe vera oil (hmm..i’m starting to like this oil now..it is more viscous when first taken out of the fridge) and castor oil with OrganicRoot Stimulator Mayonaisse. Then i applied it generously to my sectioned braids. I’m going to wait an hour then wash out.  I’m not sure if i want to clarify with baking soda or not today or just wash with my shampoo bars..I think i should clarify though because my hair is probably gonna get weighed down by all the cones from the hair mayo and the pantene mask i did on wednesday. I forgot today was sunday too..lol I though it was saturday 😛
